Sorry I know its been 15 years since this post. But in 2023 I had discovered Witchcraft, and I was glad they mention them in this interview. Such an underestimated band, they deserve so much more popularity, specialy in North America, just like Opeth! 🤘🏻
So relaxed and talking in turns perfectly and respect oozing from them. Lots of humility and talent. Love it.

1:03 Watch Mike subconsciously giving Aker the finger for acting like an ass after such a compliment about Dt playing the Damnation record during their shows’ intermission. Mike is so into Opeth and Aker is so arrogant and doesn’t care. By then, Aker just knew he was beyond prog metal.
If Geddy Lee was sitting next to them, that would be my top three bands of all time on one room. Worlds colliding.

Metal and sitting doesn't go together; have seen DT every tour in Germany since 2000 and Opeth 3 times, but the only time we sat was the Astonishing tour and my son fell asleep :-) .... and he was NOT drunk ... the show was so exciting ... YAWN

4:15 the Ayreon record he's talking about is The Human Equation and it absolutely phenomenal! Probably my favourite record ever. And as he mentioned, James LaBrie is also on it (in fact, he has the lead role in the story) and he sounds very good

Well here we have a sympathetic, intelligent, master of prog metal through last decades and then we have "show guy" who pretends to be something real big. Make your guess who is who. Again, the other one, as a personality, is disgusting even though he is technically superb on his area.

The thing why many hate DT is because of the annoying vocals. I think metalheads underestimate how much vocals add to the enjoyment of the song and just slap it on at the end of songwriting. The vocals on silver livings were especially cringy.
